Family boat building week july 17-23,2016. hurry and sign up limited space available! information on the deltaville maritime museum home page. start time 8:00 am ending time 4:00 pm venue location: 287 jackson creek road deltaville virginia. 2017 family boatbuilding week at the deltaville maritime museum will be held from july 16-22. the museum has helped 108 teams build their own wood crabbing skiffs. our boat shop has carefully designed the kit for the skiffs so no prior knowledge of boat building is needed to complete the project.. This is b&b 8th year participating in the mystic woodenboat show's "family boat building" event. the amanda dinghy continues to be a great family boat and over 60 have been built since 2011 (our first year at the show)..
Over the weekend you will be introduced to joinery, gluing, clamping, sawing, beveling, planing, sanding, precise measuring and the use of many of the hand tools that are still used by wooden boat builders throughout the world..
